Netflix has released first-look images and a sneak-peek video offering an early glimpse of the upcoming Swedish Christmas romantic comedy The Christmas Switch. The film is set to premiere globally on the streaming platform on November 12, 2026.

Real-life sisters Felice and Happy Jankell lead the cast as Mathilda and Freddie, two siblings with contrasting lifestyles. Mathilda has never ventured beyond her small-town village, while Freddie is a city girl accustomed to a fast-paced life. When an unexpected twist forces them to switch places in the weeks before Christmas, both find themselves navigating unfamiliar surroundings and facing new challenges. The experience leads them to question the paths they have chosen, with romance emerging where neither might have expected it. The main cast also includes Christian Fandango, Celie Sparre and Anastasious Soulis.

The film marks the feature directorial debut of Adam Pålsson, a Swedish actor known for Young Wallander (2020) and Before We Die (2017), among others. The screenplay is by Christin Magdu and Mikael Syrén, based on Eleonor Sager’s audiobook Christmas in St. Anna (Jul i Sankt Anna). Sager also produces the film through Breakable Films AB, with Lena Rehnberg, Hadis Jabbari and Viktor Linnell serving as executive producers for the film.
