‘Home For Christmas’ Season 3 Premieres Globally on Netflix Today

The hit Norwegian romantic comedy-drama series Home For Christmas (Hjem til jul) returns to Netflix for its anticipated third season today, on December 12 – five years after Season 2 premiered in 2020. Ida Elise Broch (A Storm For Christmas, Fenris) reprises her role as Johanne. Hoping to shake off last Christmas’s lingering heartbreak, Johanne is determined to enjoy the holidays free of romantic chaos – or so she believes.

Returning Cast

Joining Ida Elise Broch this season are returning cast members Dennis Storhøi, Anette Hoff, Hege Schøyen, Helga Guren, Audun Sandem, Christian Ruud Kallum, Iselin Shumba, and Felix Sandman.

New Cast Members

Season 2 includes several new members to the ensemble , including former professional football player John Carew, alongside Bjørn Sundquist, Gard Løkke, Felicia Danielsson, Herman Tømmeraas, and Janne Heltberg.

Synopsis Home For Christmas 3

Johanne is now 35. Months have passed since her breakup with Jonas. She doesn’t have a boyfriend but keeps herself busy to avoid feeling lonely. She helps her siblings, takes care of her lonely father, and has taken on a new leadership position at work. As she throws herself back into the dating scene, she starts to realize it’s not quite the same as it used to be. Or is it Johanne who has changed? The breakup with Jonas was tough, and bubbling beneath the surface lies the big question: Will she dare to love again?

Creative & Production Team

Season 3 is directed by Per-Olav Sørensen, who also helmed the previous seasons and is known for acclaimed series such as The Playlist, A Storm for Christmas, Quicksand, and Nobel. He is joined by co-director Aurora Gossé (Dancing Queen).

The season is written by Siri Seljeseth, Amy Deasismont, Vera Herngren, Mari Ørstavik, and Per-Olav Sørensen, with Mari Nygaard returning as producer and Nora Ibrahim, Trond H. Kvernstrøm, and Per-Olav Sørensen serving as executive producers.

The series is produced by The Oslo Company and The Global Ensemble Drama.
