One of the most successful drama series on TV 2 Denmark in recent years, Oxen, is set to return for its second season. Filming of the six episodes has just begun in Frederikshavn in northern Denmark and will continue in Jylland, Copenhagen, Fyn, and in Lithuania. The series is expected to debut on TV 2 and TV 2 Play in Denmark in 2025.
The Story
As in the first season, the central themes of power and betrayal are once again at the forefront in Oxen II, as the secret power elite, Danehof, plots to overthrow the government and undermine democracy. Both Oxen and Margrethe must go underground while PET chief Frigg Mossmann gets closer to her long-held, secret goal: to expose the dark men of power. Meanwhile, Danehof’s newest member, Kajsa Corfitzen, has her own unpredictable agenda.
The main cast from the first season returns with Jacob Haughberg Lohmann (Godland, Riders of Justice) as the commando soldier Niels Oxen, alongside Josephine Park (Doggystyle, Attachment) as the PET-agent Margrethe Franck, Ellen Hillingsø (The Experiment) as PET-boss Frigg Mossman, and Birgitte Hjort Sørensen (Borgen, Automata) as the businesswoman Kajsa Corfitzen. In addition, the cast for OxenII consists of Kristian Halken, Caspar Phillipson, Christian Tafdrup, Andreas Jebro, Hanne Hedelund, and more.

“The Danes loved the first season, so I am incredibly happy that we can share a new season with them. The series’ focus on power and democracy is always important and relevant, and it promises to be an action-packed story as Oxen ventures out of the woods and we follow him on the run.”
Pernille Bech Christensen, Senior Executive Producer at TV 2 Denmark
