“The Danes loved the first season, so I’m incredibly happy that we get to share a new season with them. The series’ focus on power and democracy is as always relevant and important, while season 2 also offers an action-packed story when Oxen leaves the forest and goes on the run”.

Pernille Bech Christensen, Senior Executive Producer, TV 2

Synopsis

In the second season of Oxen, former special forces soldier Niels Oxen (Jacob Lohman) is on the run, carrying a video that exposes the Justice Minister’s role in a brutal murder. Hunted by both the authorities and the secret power elite known as Danehof, Oxen must decide whom he can trust.

As business magnate Kajsa Corfitzen (Birgitte Hjort Sørensen) seeks revenge, and divisions emerge within Danehof’s leadership, Oxen and PET agent Margrethe Franck (Josephine Park) are drawn back into a fragile alliance—this time without the knowledge of PET chief Frigg Mossman (Ellen Hillingsø).

Murder, political betrayal, and a dark secret at the core of power fuel this new season, where the fight to expose Danehof becomes a battle for Denmark’s democracy itself.

Characters

Jacob Hauberg Lohmann as Niels Oxen in Oxen 2

Niels Oxen (Jacob Hauberg Lohmann)

Oxen is forced to go on the run from both Kajsa and Danehof after coming into possession of the video proving that the Minister of Justice killed Virginia. Before disappearing underground, Oxen visits his son on his 13th birthday — a meeting that puts his family’s lives in danger and forces them to flee the country.

Haunted by guilt and the feeling of being a failing father unable to keep his promises, Oxen seeks refuge under a false identity at a fish farm run by a kindred spirit, Klaus-Ole, known as ‘Fisk’. But when Kajsa discovers his hiding place, the consequences are tragic. Realizing he can’t survive alone, Oxen reconnects with Margrethe to rebuild their trust, but circumstances soon force him to work with both her and Mossman to stop Danehof once and for all.

Margrethe Franck as Josephine Park in Oxen 2

Margrethe Franck (Josephine ParK)

Margrethe is brought to safety in a remote rural location, hiding from Danehof. There, she is overcome by loneliness, trying to come to terms with isolation while haunted by the traumas of her past. She reconnects with her foster sister, Itana, a lead investigator who knows Margrethe better than she expected — and who tries to pressure her into revealing information about Oxen. Caught between her loyalty to Oxen and her duty to Mossman, Margrethe ultimately manages to unite them in a shared goal: to bring down Danehof.

Ellen Hillingsø as Frigg Mossmann in Oxen 2

Frigg Mossman (Ellen Hillingsø)

Frigg Mossman remains determined to dismantle Danehof, willing to use any means necessary to build an airtight case that will expose the organization. She pressures Margrethe to find Oxen, recover the video he possesses, and help complete his mission. When a tragic event indirectly results from her actions, Frigg’s professional pride is shaken — but she takes responsibility and delivers the difficult news herself. Operating in the shadows of Christiansborg, she surrounds herself with trusted allies — a strategy that becomes crucial when Danehof turns its sights on removing her from the game.

Birgitte Hjort Sørensen as Kajsa Corfitzen in Oxen 2

Kajsa Corfitzen (Birgitte Hjort Sørensen)

Driven by vengeance, Kajsa hunts Oxen like prey, determined to seize the incriminating video of the Justice Minister. Wherever Oxen or Mossman move, she is always one step ahead. Beneath her composed exterior, Kajsa harbors a deep hatred for her father and a traumatic childhood secret she’s desperate to keep buried. She envisions a new future for Danehof — one free of the shadows of the past — but not everyone shares her ambition, and internal divisions threaten to upend the balance of power within the organization’s inner circle.
