Netflix has announced The Case, a five-episode Swedish crime series created and written by Lupin‘s George Kay. Featuring Jakob Oftebro (Hamilton, Kon-Tiki) as Lead Investigator Thomas, and Peter Andersson (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Wallander) as his father and former detective Alfred, with whom he shares a strained past, the series centers on a harrowing manhunt in Stockholm. When a serial killer begins targeting police officers, Thomas is forced to turn to his father for help, drawing the two into a tense and emotional race against time.
All episodes are directed by acclaimed Danish filmmaker Kristoffer Nyholm, known for The Killing (2007) and The Vanishing (2018). With filming recently completed in Stockholm, Sweden, the series now moves into post-production and is set to launch globally on Netflix in 2026.

“I’m thrilled to be working on The Case with the Nordic Netflix team, New Pictures and B-Reel Films – the best possible partners in crime. They have assembled a wonderful cast and crew, all under the leadership of director Kristoffer Nyholm. The Case is part father-son love story, part criminal thriller. A series that brings darkness… even to the endless Stockholm Summer.”
George Kay, Creator, Writer, and Executive producer
