Based on the hit crime novelVargasommar (Cry Wolf) by Swedish writer and creator of The Bridge and Marcella, Hans Rosenfeldt, the upcoming six-part TV series adaptation Cry Wolf features Eliot Sumner(Ripley) and will have its world premiere at the Stockholm International Film Festival on November 9, ahead of its release on TV4Play in Sweden on December 25, 2024.
Created by the successful duo behind Easy Money (Snabba Cash), Jesper Ganslandtand Oskar Söderlund, the series was filmed on location in the remote town of Haparanda, near the Finnish border in northern Sweden. The story follows Haparanda police officer Hannah Wester as she investigates a series of deaths linked to a violent drug deal in Finland, setting off a chain of brutal events.

Eliot Sumner (Ripley, The Gentlemen, No Time to Die) stars as the professional killer Kat in Cry Wolf, while Eva Melander(Border, UFO Sweden) takes on the lead role of Haparanda police officer Hannah Wester. Other leading roles include Henrik Dorsin (Triangle of Sadness, Grotesco), along with Nora Bredefeldt, Amed Bozan, Hannes Fohlin, Albin Grenholm, Olle Sarri, and Eero Milonoff.

Synopsis
The series follows Haparanda police officer Hannah Wester, who makes a macabre discovery after a dead wolf is found with human remains in its stomach. The case can be linked to a bloody drug deal on the other side of the border in Finland. At the same time, the odd couple Sandra and Kenneth happen to collide with a car that turns out to contain a murdered man and three valuable bags that could mean an opportunity for a new life. What Hannah and the others don’t know is that professional killer Kat is on her way to Haparanda to recover the missing bags. It triggers a brutal spiral of violence of a rarely seen kind in the small town. The events that turn out to have connections to Hannah’s dark, tormenting past.
