SkyShowtime has revealed an all-star ensemble cast for the highly anticipated upcoming Swedish dramedy, Where the Sun Always Shines, by Felix Herngren, set to premiere on the streaming platform on November 10, 2025.
Filmed on location in Mallorca, the six-part series is created and directed by renowned Swedish filmmaker, writer, and actor Felix Herngren (Sunny Side, The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared). Herngren’s vision for the Where the Sun Always Shine, inspired by his family’s relocation to Spain, aims to capture expat life in Mallorca with authentic yet playful flair.

Synopsis
Where the Sun Always Shines follows Tom (Lasson) and Petra (Linnertorp), a successful couple who built up a large Ica Maxi store in Linköping and sold it for a record sum to live a life of luxury in Mallorca with their sons. Ready to enjoy an eternal vacation, their lives suddenly take an unexpected turn during Tom’s 50th birthday party, leading his brother Timmy (Johansson) and his wife Maja (Wärmländer)to move their family to the sunny Spanish island, where chaos ensues.

The main cast for Where the Sun Always Shines stars Erik ‘Jerka’ Johansson (Bonus Family) as Timmy Kraft, and Rakel Wärmländer (Limbo) as Maja Kraft, alongside Per Lasson (The Thin Blue Line) as Tom Kraft, and Lisa Linnertorp (Sunny Side) as Petra Kraft.

The supporting cast features a blend of established actors and new talents, including Claes Månsson (Kent Kraft), Suzanne Reuter (Ann-Marie Kraft), Felix Herngren (Janne), Iris Herngren (Linn Kraft), Elis Gerdt (Anton Kraft), Elvin Philipsson (Edvin Kraft), Sofia Ledarp (Cilla), August Wittgenstein (Tysk-Thomas, Peter Magnusson (Mäklar Mick), David Nzinga (Josef), and Inger Nilsson (Elisabeth), iconic for playing Pippi Longstocking in the beloved Swedish series based on Astrid Lindgren’s children’s books.

The script is penned by head writer Maria Nygren (Meaning of Life, Love & Anarchy) with co-writer Josefin Johansson(Love & Anarchy, Top Dog), and the series is produced by Sussan Treschow (Jana – Marked for life, Meaning of Life) for Felix Herngren’s production company FLX, with Jessica Ericstam (Sunny Side, Meaning of Life) serving as Executive Producer.
Where the Sun Always Shines is a co-production between SkyShowtime and the Swedish national broadcaster SVT (Sveriges Television).
