Film Adaption

Crime Success Novel ‘Adam’s Heir’ by Sofie Lassen-Kahlke Acquired for Film by SF Studios

‘Adam’s Heir’ (original title: Adams Arv) by Danish actress and author Sofie Lassen-Kahlke was published by Politikens Forlag in November 2023. It quickly became a success with more than 20.000 copies sold.

Making her debut as an actress in the 1993 Danish family film ‘The Rascal‘, Sofie Lassen-Kahlke’s acting breakthrough came with the successful film ‘Kærlighed ved første hik‘ in 1999 by Tomas Villum. After completing her law degree, Lassen-Kahlke published her first book ‘Ramt 39 stories about turning 40‘ (original title: Ramt – 39 historier om at fylde 40) in 2021.

I was very, very happy when SF Studios told me that they saw a potential for a film adaptation of my book, and I am very happy that it has landed precisely with SF Studios and Marcella Dichmann, as I think that they in recent years have made some incredibly good and beautiful productions.

The story in ‘Adam’s Heir’ revolves around the divorced lawyer Ursula Madsen, unexpectedly confronted with her past when her childhood sweetheart suffers a suspicious fall at his manor in Old Rye. The book will be presented to an international audience at London Book Fair in March, and SF Studios has started a search to find the creative team to make the film, led by film manager and producer Marcella Dichmann.

We are very much looking forward to this collaboration and we are extremely happy that, despite the tough competition, we have succeeded in securing the rights for SF Studios. Sofie has created a both seductive and dramatic story, in which the reader is quickly absorbed. We are convinced that we can adapt this book into a really exciting film and are now looking forward to finding the right creative team to transform this universe into a wonderful cinematic experience.
