Nordic Film Commissions Sustainability Agreement

At this week’s Focus London, the Nordic Film Commissions (NFC) announced that all their 19 network members have signed a sustainability pledge with the ojective of becoming a leading region for sustainable film and TV production.

This pledge is part of a strategic collaboration with Nordisk Film & TV Fund as a Pan-Nordic initiative on sustainability.

Outlined objectives for the pledge:

  • Creating Common Understanding: NFC aims to establish shared understanding and collaboration in sustainable film and TV production.
  • External Communication and Branding: NFC intends to communicate and brand its sustainability efforts externally, showcasing the commitment to eco-friendly filmmaking.
  • Knowledge Sharing: NFC will actively share knowledge about sustainable film and TV production.
  • Information Dissemination: NFC pledges to disseminate and share information with crew, production service companies, and suppliers, fostering a culture of sustainability.
  • Network Collaboration: NFC commits to sharing knowledge within the Nordic Film Commissions network, promoting a collaborative approach to sustainability.
  • Educational Support: NFC pledges to support educational initiatives, working regionally and across the Nordics to educate location scouts, production service companies, location managers, and other crew members on sustainable practices.
