Norwegian Political Satire ‘No Comment’ Premieres Ahead of Election – Watch the Trailer

'No Comment' (Ingen kommentar) film 2025

Set to make waves ahead of the Norwegian general election this August, the political satire No Comment (Ingen kommentar) directed by acclaimed Oscar-nominated filmmaker Petter Næss (Elling, Gone With the Woman), written by Ståle Stein Berg (Occupied), and produced by Synnøve Hørsdal (State of Happinness) for Maipo Film— offers a biting look behind the closed doors of political power, inspired by real events and headline-making scandals in Norway.

The film will have an exclusive pre-premiere at Arendalsuka, Norway’s major political gathering, before its domestic release on August 22, 2025just days ahead of the election.

It has been a feast to work with this stellar cast of actors. They deliver comedy in a truthful way. Political satire is a healthy corrective, especially now, when so much is at stake. It is important to keep an eye on power, and the satire does it with revealing humor.”

“We have noticed great interest in the film long before its premiere, which is incredibly exciting. Therefore, it’s especially thrilling to offer an exclusive pre-premiere during Arendalsuka, when all of political Norway is gathered. This gives the film the setting it deserves, and there will be a rush for tickets.”
