The Academy revealed its final nominees for the 97th Oscars® today during a virtual event hosted by actor-writer-comedians Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennot.
The standout Nordic contenders are the Danish feature film The Girl With The Needle, nominated for BestInternational Feature Film, Norwegian screenwriter Mona Fastvold (The World to Come), nominated in the Original Screenplay category for The Brutalist, where she also served as a second-unit director, and the Palestinian-Norwegian documentary No Other Land, competing in the Best Documentary category.

In addition to these Nordic nominations, actors Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong have earned recognition for their performance in Swedish director Ali Abbasi‘s (Holy Spider) film The Apprentice, a drama about the young Donald Trump. Sebastian Stan is nominated for Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, while Jeremy Strong is nominated for Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.
The 97th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC, streamed on Hulu, and aired in over 200 territories worldwide.
