The Danish on-location drama ‘Second Victims’ by actress and feature debut director Zinnini Elkington (‘En flirt’, ‘A Royal Affair’) has been picked up for distribution in the Nordics by SF Studios.

Starring ‘Borgen’ actress Özlem Saglanmak (‘Enforcement’, ‘Sons of Denmark’, ‘Borgen’) and Trine Dyrholm (‘Queen of Hearts’, ‘Love Is All You Need’, ‘In A Better World’) in the leading roles, ‘Second Victim’ also features Anders Matthesen, Mathilde Arcel, Iman Meskini, and Olaf Johannessen as supporting actors.

Synopsis

The film is set against the backdrop of an understaffed stroke unit, and the skilled neurologist Alexandra’s unwavering confidence is put to the ultimate test when a routine case spirals into tragedy. Blame and guilt ripple through the hospital, and Alexandra confronts her own fallibility, grappling with the profound repercussions of medical misjudgments. In a raw and introspective journey, we learn the weight of guilt and the power of compassion.
