With an expected start in mid-April 2024, the former Head of Drama at SVT, Anna Croneman, will assume the role of new CEO for the Swedish Film Institute following Anette Novak‘s early departure, only a year and a half after she started.
Educated as a producer at Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm, Anna Croneman has extensive experience as a producer in both film and television, and is also founder of the Swedish production company Avanti Film. She has also held positions as Vice Chairman of the Film Institute’s board and with Film&TV Producenterna.
Swedish film is facing tremendous challenges, and the assignment feels a
bit dizzying at the moment! But it is of course a great honor to take on the
role of CEO of the Swedish Film Institute. I thank you for the trust and
promise to do my utmost to, together with film-competent staff and the most
skilled representatives in our entire industry, make sure to create new, better
conditions for future Swedish film and for the preservation of our film
heritage.
Anna Croneman, CEO designate at the Swedish Film Institute
The board is looking forward to Anna Croneman being the one who will now
lead the Film Institute forward. With her solid background in film and
television, she has the skills and qualities needed and she enters the business
at the right time in view of the recently started film investigation. We
would also like to take the opportunity to thank Åsa Sjöberg, who recently held
the role of acting CEO and ran the work in a very meritorious manner.
